TWU Center Seeks Women Entrepreneurs for Mission Training Program, July 9th-Oct. 8th

MISSION, Texas –  The Jane Nelson Institute for Women’s Leadership’s Center for Women Entrepreneurs (CWE) will beginaccepting applications to help train fledgling women business owners through its AccelerateHER Program in Mission.

The program will provide early-stage entrepreneurs with resources and education to accelerate their companies into scalable andsuccessful businesses. The program will meet in person for the first month, and then provide training in person or virtually.

Six Mission area women-owned businesses will be selected to participate in this intensive training program facilitated through TWU’s Center for Women Entrepreneurs.

This program will provide the AccelerateHER – Mission cohort with the following:

  • 24/7 access to a dedicated workspace July 9 – Oct. 8, at CEED (Center for Education and Economic Development) in Mission.
  • Direct access to a business advisor and mentors during and after the program.
  • Intensive entrepreneurial training from industry experts on vital business resources and processes, offered with a hybrid program of in-person and virtual meetings.
  • Access to business plan software to complete a comprehensive business plan.

“We are excited to extend the reach of our AccelerateHER Program to Mission,” said Tracy Irby, director of the CWE. “Ourmission is to empower women to build successful businesses, and through this program we aim to cultivate a community of driven and innovative leaders who will drive economic growth and prosperity in Mission and throughout Texas.”

The Center for Women Entrepreneurs is a program of the Jane Nelson Institute for Women’s Leadership at Texas Woman’s University. The institute is dedicated to preparing more women to take on successful roles in business and public service. Its three specialized centers ensure women have the education to establish careers as successful executives, the skills for building entrepreneurial businesses and the framework needed to run for public office.
