The McAllen Citizens League (MCL) board of directors held its annual retreat at McAllen’s Doubletree Hotel recently in order to plan the fall membership meeting programs.  A member survey sent in early summer and proved essential to the board during the retreat.

In keeping with the mission statement of the MCL, which was founded in 1952, programs are to be for the benefit of our citizens and members.  Topics covered at the luncheon meetings cover a range of topics and issues of the day.  Political forums, arts and culture, healthcare, environmental concerns, education, municipal and county government updates, economic development, tourism, among many other subjects, are covered on a consistent basis in order to enlighten and keep our citizens informed.
