BROWNSVILLE, Texas – KP Media TV is proud to announce the production of its newest faith-based, dramedy TV series, “Modern Day Jesus.” Creator and Executive Producer Kisa Puckett based out of California, joins forces with award-winning Director Alberto Ornelas of The Bomb TV to bring this heartwarming, thought-provoking, and comedicseries to life. The series aims to answer the question, “What would Jesus do?” in modern society, in an entertaining waythat has never been done in the faith-based genre.

The series features local cast, including documentary award-winning director and actress Brenda Patricia Garza,University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Theatre students Domingo Lara, Victoria Ivette, and Juan M. Mandiola Jr., BestActress nominee Yvonne Tovar, San Benito High School Theatre Director Dirk McElyea, and US professional bartenderand actor Mariano Gil. Californian natives, Mally Mal and Jaden Titus, will also be a part of the ensemble.

“Modern Day Jesus” series director Alberto Ornelas, originally from San Antonio and now based in the Rio GrandeValley, is an award-winning filmmaker known for his exceptional vision and creativity. In the short months of its release, his latest film “Desolate” has already garnered him Best Cinematographer, Best Producer, and Best Short Film. Alberto isexcited to bring his talents and expertise to “Modern Day Jesus” and to showcase the beauty of the region.

“The Rio Grande Valley has a unique and diverse landscape that offers a wide range of filming locations, and that’s whyI moved here,” Ornelas said. “From beautiful beaches and scenic parks to vibrant downtown areas and historic buildings, the RGV has something for every type of production.”

Kisa Puckett, Founder of KP Media TV and Creative Director of marketing agency Pink Icing added by saying, “Beingfrom California and unfamiliar with the Rio Grande Valley, I was very impressed with the area. The talent there is incredible! We are thrilled to be able to showcase them and the area on this series.”

The series is currently in pre-production. Filming is expected to commence in early June and is expected to be releasedlater this year. “Modern Day Jesus” will be distributed on KP Media TV, a streaming TV network that creates, produces,and distributes feel-good, thought-provoking, and engaging independent TV shows and films globally.
