As we approach our first year anniversary of the implementation of the Hidalgo County Wellness Program, we have proven the success of the program, said Hidalgo County Wellness Coordinator Diana Huallpa at Tuesday’s Commissioners Court meeting. Huallpa also updated the court with upcoming projects.
“Ort statistics indicate a significant improvement in members accessing the county’s insurance provider, Aetna services by the App/Website,” said Huallpa. “A drastic improvement has also been seen in the use of the telehealth service, Teledoc.”
To boost productivity of the program, Huallpa plans on continuing to encourage members to engage in preventive services and screenings, to continue to promote Teledoc, to further promote the Employee Assistance Program, specifically on mental health support, and more.
New programs such as the Diabetes Management Plus Program and the Hidalgo County Preventive Measures Program will occur on Wednesday, July 1 along with other webinars focusing on various health related topics for county employees.
“Our launch date for our new Wellness Program Website will be on July 1, so please visitwww.hidalgocountywellnessprogram.com for all updates,” said Huallpa.
Huallpa ended her report announcing the 2020 Employee Wellness Challenge, who were encouraged to lose a minimum of two percent body fat in a 12 week period.
“The total number of participants for this year’s challenge was 338 county employees and 19 qualifying winners,” Huallpa said.
Winners included employees from Urban County, Drainage District No. 1; Code Enforcement; Hidalgo County Health and Human Services; the District Clerk’s office; and the Hidalgo County Tax Assessor Collector’s office.
