EDINBURG, Texas – The Edinburg Police Department has successfully solved multiple burglaries in our community. On September 28, 2024, Edinburg PD responded to reports from several businesses regarding burglaries that occurred during the early morning hours. The three local businesses identified as victims of this string of burglaries were Johnny’s True Value, Boost Mobile, and Fernandez Grocery Store, all within walking distance of one another. Cash and store items were stolen from these locations. Following the incidents, Edinburg PD detectives initiated an investigation and obtained video evidence.

On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, before midnight, officers received a call about another burglary in progress at La Cabana Restaurant, located at 3006 N. Closner Blvd. This was followed by two reports of attempted burglaries at two other local businesses. Reports were filed, and Edinburg PD detectives continued to investigate these incidents.

On Thursday, October 3, 2024, an officer from the Edinburg PD received information through a community contact regarding the possible whereabouts of two suspects involved in the burglaries. This information was relayed to detectives, who were able to follow up and locate the suspects. The pair were initially placed under arrest on unrelated charges and were later linked to the burglaries.
