WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) released the following statement after the Senate voted to take up legislation that will provide for a long-term extension of unemployment benefits for Texans during the coronavirus pandemic:

“We must ensure Texans who find themselves out of work due to the pandemic receive the financial support they need. I’ve supported additional federal unemployment benefits since this public health crisis began. Congress must reinstate federal unemployment benefits for the millions of Texans who’ve had the rug pulled out from under them so they can continue to provide for their families.”
