Community invited to Attend fundraising campaign event called “City Jam 2017: Save Project On-the-Air” to take place Friday, June 2nd

McAllen Texas-ICYP invites the community to come out and show their support in launching the first of a series of fundraising events by attending an outdoor concert event called “City Jam 2017: Save Project On-the-Air” Friday, June 2nd from 5:00pm to 10:00pm.

The event will take place at the Fallas Paredes parking lot located at 1700 South 23rd Street in McAllen.

Concert performances include artists D’Yana Skye, Arzalez, Javi and Sylvia, The Project, Tony Longoria, Lil’ Z, Jiro and Auranova will be the headlining Acts. 

Guest appearances include: Miss Teen McAllen Stephanie Martinez, Ms. Texas Belleza Latina Gabriela Rangel and Miss Alamo Norah Carden to name a few. 

There will also be a dance off competition featuring local area mascots for the chance to be considered the RGV’s Best Dancing Mascot! 

Proceeds from water consumption and raffle ticket sales from the event will benefit ICYP to help keep the program available to RGV area youth.

KCYP-LP 97.7 FM is a local non-profit low power radio station operating out of the McAllen Creative Incubator. It is owned and operated by Inter-city Christian Youth Program, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the youth of the RGV since 1995.

Currently, KCYP is running Project: On-the-Air 78501, an after-school project offering FREE radio broadcasting classes to at-risk youth who reside or attend school within the 78501 zip code.

Project On-the-Air was previously funded by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) and has been in operation since 2004 serving over 4,000 area youth.
