With an initial investment over $4.6 million approved by the McAllen City Commission, the newest McAllen Fire Station is ready to serve the residents in McAllen’s Tres Lagos area, the largest and fastest growing area of the city. The station is 10,547 square feet, which includes a kitchen, dining room, dayroom, dispatch area, fitness room, dorms, office space, equipment storage, and utility rooms. It will house one fire truck and four firefighters, with provisions for one additional fire truck and personnel when the need arises.
The land was donated by Rhodes Enterprises. The final construction cost was $4,633,500. The architects for the project were Gignac & Associates, LLP and the fire station was built by NM Contracting LLC
