EDINBURG, TX – The City of Edinburg invites the community to fill out the 2020 Census at the Census Self-Response Rally on Friday, August 28, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex on W. University Dr. and N. Jackson Rd.

Residents can enjoy free giveaways and a food distribution while doing their part and filling out the Census form with our staff’s assistance.

With our Census self-response center’s help over the last three weeks, our response rate has increased to 61.8%. With this one-day drive-thru event, our goal is to get every Edinburg resident counted as billions of dollars in federal funding go to hospitals, fire departments, schools, roads, and other resources based on census data.

It is the last day for eligible residents living inside Edinburg city limits, to qualify for a $100 S.P.AR.C gift card that can be spent at local SPARC businesses in Edinburg. It is one gift card per household and will only be distributed to those that have not received a gift card through the program. To apply for the gift card, you must complete your Census on-site, provide a valid I.D and utility bill.

Attendees will remain in their vehicles to ensure residents’ and staff’s safety, and facial coverings are required at all times.

If you have not completed the 2020 Census, mark your calendar for Friday, August 28, and go home with FREE items. For more information, you can contact the Edinburg City Hall at (956) 388-8204. Edinburg counts!
