The South Texas College Board of Trustees is gearing up for a new year with some new and familiar faces and a transition in leadership appointments.

In a recent Courtesy Talk organized at the request of the Maquiladora industry in Mexico, Jorge Torres, President and owner of Interlink Trade Services Custom Brokers, addressed the implications of the US Section 232 tariffs on steel and aluminum products from Mexico.

The Justice Department, together with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), today filed a civil lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against TikTok Inc., ByteDance Ltd., and their affiliates (together, TikTok) for violating the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and its implementing regulations (COPPA) in connection with the popular TikTok app.

Dr. Sandra Hansmann, has recently taken on the role of Assistant Provost and Instructional Professor at Texas A&M University’s Higher Education Center in McAllen. In this capacity, she will promote the center to the Rio Grande Valley industry and support the initiatives of Mr. Manuel M. (Manny) Vela, the Associate Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Higher Education Center at McAllen. Increasing enrollment and overall center awareness are key objectives in her new role.
