CBP announces the opening of temporary processing facility in Laredo

LAREDO, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection today announced the opening of a soft-sided facility in Laredo, Texas. Since April 2020, CBP has seen a steady increase in border encounters from the Western Hemisphere due in part to worsening economic conditions brought on by the COVID 19 pandemic and natural disasters affecting the area.

Border Patrol Agents Make Three Marijuana Seizures in Brownsville

BROWNSVILLE, TX – Brownsville (BRP) and Fort Brown (FTB) Border Patrol Station agents seized more than $348,000 worth of marijuana in two days from three separate incidents.

Dr. Hochman Funds Twentieth Annual Education Grant

WESLACO – As part of an ongoing road construction project, Hidalgo County Precinct 1 announced the closure of a section of Mile 10 N. at the intersection of Mile 6 W. in Weslaco. The area will be closed to traffic as contractors excavate the full depth of the roadway.
