EDINBURG, Texas – The South Texas International Film Festival (STXIFF) is back and celebrating its eighth year. Since its inception, the Festival’s goal has been to provide a platform for artistic filmmakers to showcase their talent and creativity as well as to bring exceptional films that resonate with audiences around the world. As a City of Edinburg festival, STXIFF has surpassed all expectations and established itself as a leading film festival in South Texas.

Over the year, STXIFF will accept short and feature-length films in narrative, animation, documentary, and music categories. RGV, Texas, National, and International categories are accepted and will be narrowed down to the final Official Selections that will be Screened at the 8th Annual South Texas International Film Festival in late September 2022. 

The Festival will open on Thursday, September 29th, and culminate with an awards ceremony awarding the best films in the industry on October 1st. The 8th STXIFF is currently accepting entries. Final submissions close at 11:59 PM on June 19th, 2022. Deadlines will have four different dates:

a)      Early Bird Entry: March 30th – April 20th, 2022

b)      Regular Entry: April 14th – May 13th, 2022

c)      Late Entry: May 14th – June 5th, 2022

d)      Extended Entry: June 6th – June 19th, 2022

The Official Selection will be announced on July 8th, 2022, via email to filmmakers and the STXIFF social media platforms.
