The McAllen ISD drone team will depart at 9:30 am on Tuesday, Aug. 29, from Crockett Annex (2112 N. Main St.) in McAllen. The team consists of Officers Jesus Enriquez and Luis Garcia. Capt. Jose Silva will be there to see them off. Interested media should be there by 9:15 am if you want photos/b roll/interviews.

A 2-man drone operating team from the McAllen ISD Police Dept. are going to assist with Hurricane Harvey search and assessment efforts. The team will leave Tuesday morning, August 29, and head to the Texas Gulf Coast area affected by Hurricane Harvey.
The team will assist FEMA teams with search and rescue efforts plus damage assessments. The team will pack provisions, including food and water, for 3-4 days.
In the Spring of 2017, two officers in the McAllen ISD Police Dept. became certified in the use of drones.
