WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) is encouraging eligible applicants to apply for community development grants from Texas Rural Communities, Inc. (TRC) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency.

“Every dollar of federal funding can help with development projects in South Texas rural communities,” Congressman Gonzalez said. “Awards from Texas Rural Communities can elevate these regions and provide every resident in the 15th District of Texas with the tools necessary to strengthen their communities.”

TRC will make numerous awards with the total amount not to exceed $40,000 for rural areas to advance community development, including but not limited to environmental, economic, or educational programs. The grants may not be used for building construction or personnel costs.
