PHARR, Texas – PSJA ISD recently hosted its 6th Annual Virtual EdTech Conference, “We Empower: Leading Together!”, bringing employees from across the district together for a day of learning, collaboration, and innovation.

“Our virtual technology conference continues to grow each year, which shows how much our employees value learning and staying current with technology,” said Melissa Marvin, Instructional Technology Director at PSJA ISD. “Even while they’re on vacation, they’re making time to participate because they don’t want to miss the opportunity to learn and bring new ideas back to their classrooms and work.”

The conference allowed PSJA ISD employees to explore new technology tools, strengthen their digital skills, and discover practical ways to support their work. This year’s event featured more than 60 EdTech sessions, a keynote presentation by Eric Curts, and more than 170 door prizes.

It also highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence and the importance of using technology responsibly. Employees from across the district had opportunities to learn how technology can support their daily work, both inside and outside the classroom.

“We’re especially excited to have offered AI sessions in both English and Spanish for all PSJA ISD staff,” said Senyda M. Elizondo, Instructional Technology Director at PSJA ISD. “This effort also aligns with the release of our district’s AI Guidebook, which provides guidance and resources to support students, families, and staff in the responsible and effective use of AI. Our Virtual EdTech Conference provides educators with an opportunity to learn, collaborate, and grow together.”

The conference also included a Campus Challenge, with the top-participating campuses at each level earning a Starbucks Coffee & Cake Celebration. The first 600 eligible participants also received a free conference T-shirt.

The successful event reflects PSJA ISD’s continued commitment to professional growth, innovation, and preparing employees to lead in an increasingly digital world.
