EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) women’s tennis team announced it will be hosting nine summer camps at the Orville Cox Tennis Center with the first one starting on June 10-14.
The other eight camps will take place on June 17-21, June 24-28, July 8-12, July 15-19, July 22-26, July 29-Aug. 2, Aug. 5-9, and Aug. 12-16. Registration for the camps can be completed at https://camps.jumpforward.com/utrgvwomenstennis.
Camps will cost $55 for kids in kindergarten through second grade and $65 for kids in third through fifth grade. Camps will run from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. for campers in kindergarten through second grade and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. for kids in third through fifth grade.
Camps will go over basic fundamentals while introducing kids to tennis. Campers will go over the different type of strokes, positioning, footwork, and work on agility, balance,

The camps and academies are open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender). NCAA rules prohibit representatives of UTRGV Athletics interests (boosters) who are not legally responsible for a prospective student-athlete (grades 7-12) from providing any expenses to attend a showcase, camp or clinic. Violations of this could result in loss of NCAA eligibility for the prospective student-athlete.
