LAREDO, TEXAS – IBC Bank Executive Vice President Gerry Schwebel was presented with the Russell H. Perry Award from the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) during the 93rd annual Transportation Short Course conference at Texas A&M University at College Station on Tuesday, October 15.

Established in 1988, the Russell H. Perry Award recognizes individual citizens for leadership in increasing public awareness of the need for and benefits of adequate highway and transportation facilities in the State of Texas. 

“Gerry is an invaluable asset to the bank and the customers and communities we serve,” said IBC Bank Chairman and CEO Dennis E. Nixon. “I congratulate him on this addition to his many, well-deserved accolades.”

Widely regarded as a leading expert on international trade and finance, Mr. Schwebel is a dedicated advocate for industrial/economic development and transportation. He frequently represents IBC Bank and its customers with top government and business leaders in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

“I am humbled and honored to receive this prestigious award and to be among so many distinguished prior honorees,” Schwebel said.

The Russell H. Perry Award is sponsored jointly by the Texas A&M Transportation Institute, member of the Texas A&M University System, the Texas Department of Transportation and the Texas Good Roads/ Transportation Association.
