EDINBURG, Texas – The Edinburg Economic Development Corporation (EEDC) announced that Swig, a fast-growing beverage brand known for its customizable dirty sodas, has selected Edinburg for its first location in the Rio Grande Valley.
The new Swig is planned for 415 W. Trenton Rd. and will mark the brand’s first-in-market location in the Rio Grande Valley, with five additional locations planned throughout the region.
The Edinburg location will be developed on an approximately 800-square-foot pad site within the existing Walk-On’s development fronting Trenton Road, utilizing a portion of the site’s existing parking area. The project represents an estimated one million in private capital investment and is expected to create approximately 15 full-time jobs, with projected annual sales of approximately $1.8 million.
“This is exactly what our First to Market Program is designed to accomplish—bring new concepts to Edinburg as their first location in the region and position our city as a gateway to the South Texas market,” said Raudel Garza, Executive Director of the Edinburg EDC. “Swig’s decision to launch its Rio Grande Valley expansion in Edinburg speaks to the strength of our market and the continued growth we are seeing along the Trenton corridor.”
The project is being developed by Najib Haidar, Franchise Operator, an experienced franchise operator whose portfolio includes nationally recognized restaurant brands such as IHOP, Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux, and Dave’s Hot Chicken.

The Edinburg EDC is supporting the project through its First to Market Program, an incentive designed to attract new-to-market concepts that select Edinburg as their first location in the Rio Grande Valley, encourage private investment, and expand the variety of retail, dining, and entertainment options available in Edinburg. The Edinburg location is anticipated to open in mid-2027.
