Compensation increases for teachers will continue to make PSJA ISD’s starting pay for teachers among the best in the region. Additionally, PSJA ISD will continue to pay 100% of healthcare under the base plan at no cost for all employees.

“We take tremendous pride in providing competitive pay for our dedicated employees,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Alejandro Elias. “Thank you to our School Board of Trustees for approving this generous compensation plan and to our Business and Human Service teams for their dedication and efforts to help us balance our budget to make this possible.”

In addition to offering competitive starting pay for teachers, during the 2023-2024 school year, PSJA ISD was approved for the Texas Education Agency’s Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) in 2022-2023 and will continue an incentive program for coming years aimed at providing outstanding teachers an accessible pathway to a six-figure salary.
