AUSTIN — The Office of the Texas Secretary of State today announced the expansion of Texas Express, the agency’s expedited business filing service, to include business formations and other registration services. The new offerings build on the successful launch of Texas Express in 2025, which provides same-day and next-day service for business filings.

“The ability to act quickly, especially when starting a business, can lay the groundwork for success,” said Secretary of State Jane Nelson. “Our office has created options for entrepreneurs and investors who are ready to start doing business today.”

The expansion of Texas Express comes at a time when Texas has a record-breaking number of active businesses, more than 3 million, and more businesses are choosing to incorporate in Texas.

“Formally creating a business is the first step often necessary before applying for financing, securing office space, or making the first hire,” said Secretary Nelson. “We are offering the option for Texas businesses to file as quickly as possible so they can get on with the business of business.”

The expansion reflects the agency’s commitment to streamlining operations, increasing transparency, and reducing administrative burdens for Texans who rely on timely and accurate business services.

“Whether you are a Fortune 100 company or a first-time entrepreneur, my commitment is the same: to provide quality service, efficient processing and clear communication,” said Secretary Nelson. “These new expedited filing options are part of a broader effort to modernize our operations and give Texas businesses the tools they need to succeed.”

These new services follow the launch of Texas Express last fall. At that time the Secretary’s office offered the express service for services such as certificates of conversion, certificate of mergers, for all entities and amendments, restated formations, and certificates of validations for domestic entities.
