EDINBURG, Texas – The City of Edinburg Utilities Department is advising residents and businesses within the area bounded by McColl Road, Wisconsin Road, Closner Boulevard, and extending one mile north of the intersection of Canton Road and Jackson Road to boil water as a precautionary measure until further notice.
On Tuesday, May 19, a contractor struck a main water line near the Allen Drive area. City crews have since completed the necessary repairs and restored normal operations to the system.

Although customers in the surrounding area may not have experienced a direct service interruption, the Utilities Department is issuing this precautionary boil water notice out of an abundance of caution to help ensure the continued quality of the water system following the repair work.
Residents are encouraged to follow these precautionary measures until the notice is lifted:
• Boil water before use — Bring tap water to a rolling boil for at least two minutes before drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth.
• Allow water to cool — Let boiled water cool before consumption or household use.
• Use bottled water if necessary — Bottled water is recommended for individuals unable to boil water.
The City of Edinburg appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during this time.
