San Juan, Texas – San Juan Mayor Mario Garza and City of San Juan officials are pleased to announce that in an effort to improve city services for San Juan residents, the city has invested in the purchase of new city vehicles. New vehicles include additions to the Sanitation and Police Department fleet, and are expected to enhance both sanitation collection and city safety efforts, thereby increasing the capability of city services and improving the quality of life for San Juan residents and families.

“We are committed to focus our efforts on enhancing our city’s infrastructure and equipment so that we are prepared to respond to our citizen’s needs,” said Mayor Mario Garza. “These new vehicles will allow us to increase our capabilities to serve our community,” he added.

Through a combination of grants, forfeiture funds, and financing, the city was able to purchase trucks, a police patrol unit, sanitation and brush trucks, and heavy equipment including grapplers and front loaders. Police vehicles were purchased through Operation Stonegarden grant funds and Federal Asset Forfeitures. The sanitation vehicles were purchased through a purchase lease agreement and paid for through sanitation funds.
