AUSTIN – This week, Governor Greg Abbott selected multiple qualified candidates to serve on behalf of Texans.

Advisory Council On Emergency Medical Services – Governor Abbott appointed Lauren Hart Day and Crissie Richardson and reappointed James M. “Mike” DeLoach, Brian Eastridge, M.D., Della Johnson, and Gerad Troutman, M.D. to the Advisory Council on Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for terms set to expire on January 1, 2032. The Council recommends changes to the EMS/Trauma System to ensure that the community receives comprehensive and efficient emergency care.

Advisory Council On Postsecondary Education For Persons With Intellectual And Developmental Disabilities – Governor Abbott reappointed Aaron Bangor, Ph.D. to the Advisory Council on Postsecondary Education for Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities for a term set to expire on August 31, 2027. The Council was created by the 86th Texas Legislature to address barriers to accessing higher education for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Coastal Water Authority Board Of Directors – Governor Abbott has reappointed Jon “Mark” Sjolander to the Coastal Water Authority Board of Directors for a term set to expire on April 1, 2028. The Authority is a conservation and reclamation district located within Harris, Chambers, and Liberty Counties. The Authority has the power to transport and deliver water inside and outside the authority and to acquire and construct all necessary properties and facilities necessary for such purposes.

Correctional Managed Health Care Committee – Governor Abbott appointed Gonzalo J. Perez-Garcia, M.D. to the Correctional Managed Health Care Committee for a term set to expire on February 1, 2029. The Committee coordinates the development of statewide policies for the delivery of correctional health care within the criminal justice system.

Jefferson And Orange Counties Board Of Pilot Commissioners – Governor Abbott reappointed Brandy Bergeron, M.D., Shawn M. Sparrow, and Amy Townsend, M.D. to the Jefferson and Orange Counties Board of Pilot Commissioners for terms set to expire on August 22, 2027. The Board of Pilot Commissioners has exclusive jurisdiction over the pilot services provided in Jefferson and Orange Counties, including intermediate stops and landing places for vessels on navigable streams wholly or partially located in the board’s jurisdiction.
