Weather Conditions for The Rio Grande Valley are becoming more favorable for the development of widespread showers and thunderstorms from this afternoon through Friday. A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for tonight through Friday as well. Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible tonight and Thursday with the most likely hazards to include gusty winds and hail. There is a potential for excessive rainfall that could result in flash flooding especially for the Northern Ranchlands.

Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. Southeast wind around 14 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Tonight
Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 3am, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 4am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 72. Southeast wind 10 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. 
Thursday
Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 5pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. East southeast wind 11 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible. 
Thursday Night
Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Low around 69. South southeast wind 8 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 84. South wind around 9 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
