Nine Tails Smoke Shop Investigation
Edinburg Police have identified a juvenile male involved in the recent robbery at Nine Tails Smoke Shop. Investigators located the 15-year-old suspect on the outskirts of Donna, where he was taken into custody without incident. Two additional suspects remain at large, and the investigation is ongoing.
Edinburg, TX— On March 26, 2025, at approximately 1:53 a.m., an Edinburg Police officer responded to a reported robbery in the 1600 block of W. McIntyre St. Upon arrival, the officer met with UTRGV campus police and a male victim who stated he had been robbed at gunpoint by an unknown suspect.
According to the victim, he was walking in the area while using his phone when the suspect approached him and took his gold chain and a small amount of cash before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported.
Edinburg Police Department investigators are actively working to corroborate the victim’s account as they continue their investigation.
On March 26, 2025, at approximately 12:56 a.m., Edinburg Police responded to an armed robbery at Nine Tails Smoke Shop, located at the 3700 block of N. Doolittle Rd.
According to the report, three suspects arrived at the store in a white Cadillac CTS. One of them asked the clerk if CBD products were available, and when the clerk confirmed and requested identification, the suspects left. Moments later, they parked out of view before two of them re-entered the store armed with handguns, while the third suspect carried a knife.
The suspect with the knife demanded CBD products while the other two took cash from the register and grabbed merchandise from the shelves. One of the armed suspects pointed a gun at the clerk during the robbery. After approximately 30 seconds, the suspects fled northbound. The clerk immediately contacted the police and the store owner.
