PHARR, Texas – The Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley would like to extend a wholehearted thank you to Whataburger and Whataburger customers for raising $94,883 for the Food Bank RGV this December through their ‘Tis the Season to Give’ fundraiser. The amount raised will provide over 474,000 meals to families and individuals across the RGV at risk of hunger this year.

The fundraiser ran from November 24th through December 25th, 2023 across all 45 Whataburger locations in the RGV. The fundraiser gave guests the opportunity to give back to our community by donating a minimum of $1 to the Food Bank RGV at check out and in return receiving a coupon for a free Whataburger with the purchase of a medium fry and 32 oz drink to use on their next visit.

“We are deeply honored to receive this gift from Whataburger,” Libby Ann Saenz, Food Bank RGV CEO, said. “This donation will help provide close to 500,000 meals to our people right here in the Rio Grande Valley.  We thank Whataburger for their support and enduring love for our community.”
