Weslaco Chamber to Host Candidate Forum for City Special Election

The Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce will host a candidate forum on Wednesday, June 26 at 6 pm at the Business Visitor & Event Center. The candidates are running in the city’s special election to fill the vacancy of Weslaco City Commissioner District 4. No endorsements of any form will be allowed.

The Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a candidates’ forum for the upcoming special city election that will take place on Tuesday, July 16. The forum is scheduled for Wednesday, June 26 at 6 p.m. and will be held at the Weslaco Business Visitor and Event Center. The forum will be moderated by John Greider.

This year, early voting begins on July 1 and runs through July 12. The Weslaco City Commission has one vacancy that needs to be filled for District 4. Candidates are Humberto Chavez, Adrian Farias, Lupe Garcia, and Roy Hernandez, Jr. 

Candidates will be given two minutes to introduce themselves and one minute to answer questions. Candidates will also have an opportunity to give a two-minute closing statement.
