In a move that has ignited a firestorm of controversy, President Joe Biden’s declaration of March 31, 2024—Easter Sunday—as “Transgender Day of Visibility” has drawn sharp criticism from conservative circles and prompted former President Donald Trump to demand an apology to Christians across the nation. The announcement, as reported by The Epoch Times, has been interpreted by some as a direct affront to Christian traditions and values, highlighting the ongoing cultural and political divide in the United States.

“Today, we send a message to all transgender Americans … You are America, and my entire Administration and I have your back,” President Biden said. He emphasized his administration’s commitment to transgender rights, including appointing transgender leaders to significant positions and revoking a ban on transgender individuals serving openly in the military. The president’s proclamation also highlighted efforts to make public services more accessible for transgender Americans, such as introducing more inclusive passports with an “X” gender marker.
