Texas has been named Business Facilities’ “State of the Year” for 2019, becoming the first state to win the title for the fourth time. This annual award recognizes top-ranked states in capital investment and job creation. Projects mentioned for large job creation or capital investment included Uber’s new hub in Dallas, Apple’s new campus in Austin and multiple LNG developments along the Texas coast. In 2019, Texas’ top five projects in terms of capital expenditure brought in more than $30 billion to the state, while the top five job-creating projects brought nearly 15,000 new jobs.

The Lone Star State previously won this top award in 2007, 2012 and 2016. Thanks to the economic development efforts at the local and regional levels in Texas that have made milestones, such as this, possible for our state. Congratulations to our partners across the state that continue to be part of Texas’ economic development success story. To read the full Business Facilities Magazine article, click here.
