“We were established in 1997 to promote academic excellence at STC,” said Jessica S. Garcia, Coordinator of the Valley Scholars Program at STC. “We are very proud of our students and work hard to ensure their success.  We hold monthly meetings, participate in community service events, and provide academic services such as advising and registration.  Through the help of our sponsors, we provide scholarships to high performing students from Hidalgo and Starr County.  We are very thankful for the support we receive from the community and look forward to celebrating their generosity at the 11th Annual “A Night with the Stars.”

Since its inception in 1997, the Valley Scholars Program has provided educational opportunities, leadership development, and scholarships to academically gifted and highly motivated students. For nearly two decades, the program has helped more than 800 students and accepted the 20th Class of Valley Scholars this Fall 2016.
