Senator Eddie Lucio (Texas Senate District 27) presented a certificate signed by Governor Greg Abbott to McAllen ISD’s Achieve Early College High School on April 9, 2021. This was in recognition of Achieve’s nomination by the US Dept. of Education for the 2021 National Blue Ribbon School Award.

Senator Lucio also presented the school with a US flag. Achieve ECHS is the only high school in the Rio Grande Valley and one of just five high schools in the state to be nominated. The Blue Ribbon recipient schools will be announced in the fall.
