PHARR, Texas – As part of efforts to encourage students to pursue a post-secondary education, Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District (PSJA ISD) will host its annual PSJA College & Career Tailgate on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:15 pm on the south side of the PSJA Stadium.
Organized by the PSJA College Readiness and College Transition Departments, the free event will take place before the PSJA Southwest Early College High School Javelinas vs. PSJA Memorial Early College High School Wolverines football game.
The PSJA College & Career Tailgate gives students and families an opportunity to explore pathways to higher education and career success while connecting with university representatives, PSJA departments and Academy programs.
Attendees can learn more about programs such as welding, cosmetology and culinary arts, as well as explore opportunities through institutions including South Texas College and UTRGV. Representatives from the U.S. Marines and U.S. Army will also be available to meet with students and families.
In addition to valuable college and career resources, families can enjoy music, games, and food throughout the event.
