PHARR-  John Doedyns Elementary Librarian Linda Martinez was recently awarded a 7-Eleven Project A-Game $1,000 grant for technology projects to encourage creativity.

The Project A-Game program is a community outreach program created to provide meaningful youth development opportunities through education and play, so children establish a strong foundation that supports their future success. Since its inception, 7‑Eleven and its Franchisees have awarded nearly 1,800 grants, a community investment of nearly $900,000. Grants are used to underwrite initiatives including science projects, tutoring, school supplies and sporting equipment to ensure children have the resources and inspiration they need to stay in school.

“I am utterly grateful and excited about receiving this for my library and students,” said Martinez.
