McALLEN, Texas – Monarch Fest: A Party for the Planet is a vibrant, family-friendly celebration and part of the Mayor’s Monarch Pledge, led by the National Wildlife Federation to support pollinators and promote environmental awareness.

Opening Ceremonies will feature the South Texas Drum Circle, followed by a day of music, art, and hands-on experiences. Guests can explore more than 30 interactive vendors along Palm Drive with engaging activities and wildlife education. Enjoy live entertainment, a marketplace and food courtyard, garden tours, youth activities, and appearances by butterfly stilt walkers and roaming mascots throughout the day.

At 10:00 a.m., attendees dressed in orange and butterfly wings are invited to join Mayor Javier Villalobos for the Mayor’s Bug Parade, led by the McHi Drum Line and Flag Team.

Monarch Fest is free with park admission. Complimentary shuttles will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. from 1400 Wichita Avenue near La Plaza Mall. For more information, call (956) 681-3370 or visit Quinta Mazatlán online.
