The McAllen Youth Apprenticeship Program, powered by the McAllen Chamber, South Texas College, and McAllen Independent School District, is a vehicle for talent development that we are offering to meet your future workforce needs. The program creates a crucial recruitment pipeline, decreases costly turnover, and molds and shapes potential employees trained to your specifications.

For youth participating in the program, it provides classroom education, on the job training, and wages.  The program brings all the essential elements together to drive success in talent development and workforce training.

If you are interested, here are the next steps to begin the process:

1. Identify and develop the job description (STC will match DOL guidelines for certification)

2. Identify a number of hours per week you’d like to offer

3. Establish the hourly rate of pay

The Chamber, STC, and MISD will host a Q&A session about the program on May 2 at 8:30 a.m. at the McAllen Chamber, 1200 Ash Ave.
