WASHINGTON The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) recently announced the appointment of Justin Crossie as the Regional Administrator for SBA’s Region VI that serves more than 3.8 million small businesses in the five states of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

“I am pleased to now have ten Regional Administrators who are in place around the country to help support me and the President as the voice and go-to resource for our nation’s 30 million small businesses. As we move forward into 2019, I look forward to continuing to work closely with each one of them,” SBA Administrator Linda McMahon said.

Crossie will lead the delivery of SBA’s financial, entrepreneurial development, government contracting and international export initiatives, as well as rural and veterans outreach programs to empower small business owners and entrepreneurs to start, grow and expand for the region.  He will be based out of the SBA’s district office in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Crossie comes to SBA with a strong background in government, business and civic engagement that uniquely positions him to understand the needs of small business owners. Prior to his appointment, Crossie worked in Louisiana for 10 years as the Regional Director for U.S. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise.  He served as a liaison to government, business, and civic groups throughout Louisiana’s first congressional district.

Congressman Scalise congratulated Crossie on his appointment. “For ten years, Justin has proven himself to be a dedicated and invaluable member of our team. As Regional Director of Team Scalise, Justin worked closely with Louisiana entrepreneurs to help our state’s small businesses grow and thrive, and this experience will serve him well as he joins President Trump’s Small Business Administration.”

Before his tenure with Congressman Scalise, Crossie worked as the Florida and River Parishes Representative for U.S. Senator David Vitter.  Among his duties, Crossie managed constituent casework issues for active duty military, Department of Housing and Urban Development, Department of Justice, Federal Communications Commission and the Federal Trade Commission.

Crossie is a graduate of Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, Georgia, and Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana.
