A globally recognized Festo Certified Training Center is the first of its kind in the United States and is now available through the Office of Industry Training & Economic Development and the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing (IAM) at South Texas College. On Thursday, May 28, 2015, South Texas College leadership, industry leaders and other community partners attended a ceremony to support the announcement of the Festo Certified Training Center at the STC Technology Campus in McAllen. The Festo Certified Training Center for Robotics and Industrial Automation will open a world of opportunities for students and companies who are utilizing automation technology. “It’s a stamp of quality, and a stamp of excellence,” said Dr. Shirley A. Reed, president of South Texas College. “It reflects South Texas College’s commitment to providing the community, the region and the nation with the best education through a faculty with cutting edge training.”  Festo is a privately owned German industrial control and automation company and is a leading global supplier of automation technology.
