Hidalgo County honors Norma Linda Ochoa for 40 years of dedicated service

Hidalgo County Commissioners Court honored long-time employee and Palmview resident, Norma Linda Ochoa for her dedication to the Hidalgo County Tax Assessor Collector’s Office after 40 years of going above and beyond to assist the citizens of Hidalgo County.

Ochoa joined Hidalgo County Tax Assessor-Collector Pablo “Paul” Villarreal Jr., who sponsored the resolution, on Zoom as he read the resolution and presented her with a plaque of appreciation. 

“I consider you a true hero,” said Villarreal. “You are an essential employee and first responder for providing services to our county, cities and schools.”

Ochoa began working at the Tax Office in January 1980, moving up the ranks to Office Supervisor and working in the Motor Vehicle Division where she demonstrated leadership at the Mission Sub-Station serving through several Tax Assessor Collectors.

Hidalgo County recognizes Ochoa for her committed service to the county, and wishes her a fruitful retirement.
