EDINBURG, Texas— The Edinburg Police Department is investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred early Friday morning, claiming the life of 43-year-old David Moreno.

On June 26, 2026, at approximately 1 a.m., officers responded to the 2000 block of N. McColl Road. Investigators determined Moreno was traveling southbound on his bicycle in the center turning lane when he was struck from behind by a vehicle that fled the scene. 

At approximately 5 a.m., the parents of four juveniles arrived at the Edinburg Police Department lobby to report the accident. The suspect vehicle has been identified as a 2014 Dodge Caravan.
