Brownsville Chamber of Commerce Receives Three Communication Excellence Awards

(Brownsville, TX)  – The Brownsville Chamber of Commerce (BCOC) has received three awards for outstanding marketing and communications at the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives (TCCE) Communication Excellence Award Program. 

At this year’s Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives Annual Conference, the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce received first place in digital media for the “Dear Brownsville” COVID-19 commercial spot, first place in event marketing for the“Brownsville & Beyond” webinar series, and second place in event marketing for division one chambers of commerce throughout the state of Texas with a total annual revenue under $250,000.

“We are honored to be recognized for the work we are doing to support the business community throughout the pandemic.” President & CEO Esmeralda Villarreal says, “this is the first time in the organization’s history that we have received recognition at this caliber. It’s an honor to work with a team and board of directors that continuously strive for greatness and push the organization’s mission forward.”

The Brownsville Chamber of Commerce’s marketing department is run by Director of Marketing & Programs, Danielle Rodriguez, who is responsible for improving the image of the chamber and develops programs & initiatives that add value to the members of the chamber and the greater community.  

Of the BCOC’s recent recognition at the TCCE Annual Conference, Director of Marketing & Programs Danielle Rodriguez said “Receiving this award brings our organization a tremendous sense of accomplishment. We were able to quickly adapt our programming and marketing efforts in innovative ways to assist businesses throughout the pandemic and bring them valuable information in a timely manner and we will continue to be there for our community beyond the pandemic.”

With close to 600 chambers of commerce in the state of Texas, entries are reviewed and judged by peers from the TCCE community who selected a limited number of entries to be named as award winners. Entries were judged on creativity, design, quality and reflect some of the freshest and most innovative marketing and communications work coming from a chamber of commerce in the state.
