South Texas College President Dr. Shirley A. Reed (left) and the Consul of Mexico in McAllen, Eduardo Bernal Martinez formalized an official IME Becas amendment to a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in December 2017 to increase the educational attainment level of Mexicans or persons of Mexican origin living in the US. The Consulate will be providing STC with $2,500 in order to provide scholarships to qualifying students. STC will match those funds for a total of $5,000. The scholarship funds will benefit 10 eligible students at South Texas College at $500 per student.
