EDINBURG, Texas — Hidalgo County Precinct 4, in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), proudly announces the completion and opening of the FM 1925 (Monte Cristo Road) improvement project; an $11.4 million investment in regional infrastructure. This milestone reflects ongoing efforts to modernize the FM 1925 corridor, enhance roadway safety and mobility, and accommodate the growing traffic demands driven by continued regional growth and development.

The project included the widening and reconstruction of FM 1925 from FM 907 (Alamo Road) to Sharp Road, transforming the corridor into a four-lane roadway with a continuous center turn lane, newly added curb and gutter infrastructure, and upgraded shoulder lanes to enhance traffic flow and safety.

Construction on the approximately 1.6-mile segment began in April 2024 and officially opened to the public on May 1, 2026.
