Mission, Texas – Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) received $76.4 million that will be used for developing and implementing procedures related to the health crisis. U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar presented the check to Dr. Carol G. Perez (superintendent) and Ms. Minnie Rodgers (board president) on March 30th at the Center for Education and Economic Development. The funds were allocated from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.

“We are very excited to have received these monies that will help our continuous effort to implement procedures that will safeguard our students and staff,” said Dr. Carol G. Perez, Superintendent. “We want to thank U.S. Congressman Cuellar for his unwavering support for our district.”

The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, also called the COVID-19 Stimulus Package or American Rescue Plan, is a $1.9 trillion economic stimulus bill passed by the 117th United States Congress. This was signed into law by President Joe Biden on March 11, 2021, to help speed up the United States’ recovery from the economic and health effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing recession.
