BROOKS COUNTY, Texas — The US 281 Brooks County Safety Rest Area is temporarily closed for maintenance until further notice.
Travelers should plan ahead and use alternate rest stops or facilities while maintenance work is underway.

The rest area is located on US 281 approximately nine miles south of Falfurrias in Brooks County. Restrooms and other amenities at this location will remain unavailable until the maintenance work is complete.
