EDINBURG – Region One has ranked six PSJA ISD schools among the top 10 for their usage of the educational app, MackinVia.
The rankings are based on two reports: Campus usage of instructional database resourcesaccessed through MackinVia, and eBooks viewed or checked out through the app. The eBooks available can be used by teachers and students for instruction, as well as pleasure reading. On the research database, they have access to videos, image sources, college and career readiness, among various other resources.
Among the top 10 campuses in the region that used MackinVia to access eBooks, PSJA’s Livas Elementary was ranked second in the region, Palmer Elementary was fourth, Austin Middle School was ranked sixth and Kennedy Middle School was ranked seventh.
PSJA Early College High School was ranked second in the region for their usage of MackinVia to access databases and PSJA Thomas Jefferson T-STEM ECHS was ranked ninth.
The rankings were based among 37 districts, five charters and 11 private schools in the Region One cooperative, totaling 600 campuses that participate, according to Region One Coordinator of Library Services and Instructional Resources Dr. Laura Sheneman.
“It gives me great pride to see these amazing results from our PSJA Librarians,” said PSJA Director of Library Services Nora Galvan. “It goes to show that our district is leading the way with research and reading in our region. Our goal is to one day see that all schools listed in the top 10 rankings of our region are from PSJA.”
Congratulations to all our campuses!
