All weddings are by appointment only. Witnesses are not required.
Couples who plan to take advantage of the service will need a valid marriage license, which must be obtained at least 72 hours before the wedding. If couples can’t meet this requirement, they need to ask for a waiver from the County Clerk’s Office.
When obtaining a license, both applicants need to be present, they must provide a valid identification, and they must bring their social security card.
Marriage licenses can be purchased in person at the County Clerk’s office at the Vitals & Official Records department located at the new Hidalgo County Courthouse at 100 N. Closner Blvd. in Edinburg.
