MISSION, Texas –The Regional Infusion Center (RIC) for COVID-19 at Mission Regional Medical Center, at 900 S. Bryan Road, will extend operations for residents until April 30th Hidalgo County’s Emergency Management Coordinator Ricardo Saldaña said Tuesday. 

The Center, which is funded by The Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., administering treatment to residents of the Rio Grande Valley with a capacity to serve 5 patients at a time. The facility provides monoclonal antibody therapy free of charge to patients with active COVID-19 who meet certain medical conditions. These centers help increase bed capacity in hospitals so that resources are available for the most ill patients. 

The center no longer requires doctor referral. Residents can call 956-362-5750 to make an appointment.

Authorized Criteria: 

·         Patient must have a positive COVID-19 Test 

·         Patient must be within 10 days of symptom onset or positive test (if asymptomatic) 

·         Patient must be 12 years of age or older

·         Patient must weight a minimum of 40 kg 

Not Authorized: 

·         Patients who have been hospitalized due to COVID-19, or 

·         Patients who require oxygen therapy due to COVID-19, or 

·         Patients who require an increase in baseline oxygen flow rate due to COVID-19 in those on chronic oxygen therapy due to underlying non-COVID-19 related comorbidity.
