Texas Border Business
Few people know the intense work done at a chamber of commerce. Only the people that work there know how active a chamber is. They constantly attend to members and network during in-house events, and they are multiple events.
The Mission chamber was doing fine, with projects fully developed, but there was a vacancy, the one of the President and CEO of the Chamber. Not even two years ago, Robert Rosell, a former banker took over the Chamber and followed a strict order of business for continuing the success.
Today, Rosell and his team have increased its membership by sixteen percent and are adding more incentives for current members and new coming in.
August 2018 Texas Border Business issue features an in-depth story on some of the activities Rosell and his team work on during the year. Take a peek and enjoy.
In this issue, read Rubik Atamian’s article titled “In Defense of the White Man”. As he says, this is not a unique or unusual story but one certainly worth telling. He vows to repeat it until his last day on this planet.

Bank Merger: Officials with San Antonio-based Vantage Bank Texas and Inter National Bank of McAllen have filed applications with federal and state regulators to merge the two banks. Pending approval, the new bank will be called Vantage Bank Texas.
“This merger is the logical next step that creates substantial value for customers and employees of both Inter National Bank and Vantage Bank Texas,” said Jim Collins, trustee of the Collins Family Trusts, which owns both banks. “Our customers will continue to enjoy the benefits of local decision making while gaining access to an expanded product set and the convenience of a larger branch network throughout South Texas.”
On another note, Sam Munafo was named the President and CEO of Vantage Bank Texas and will assume his new duties as Guy Bodine announced his retirement.
