McALLEN, Texas – McAllen Public Library invites families to the 4th Annual Back to School Bash on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at Palm View Branch Library, located at 3401 Jordan Rd. The free event is designed to help students and families prepare for the upcoming school year by providing school supplies, educational resources, and access to support services.
Students entering Pre-K through 12th grade are encouraged to bring their own backpacks to receive school supplies, hygiene kits, and educational materials while supplies last. Resources are intended to help students begin the school year with essential tools to support both academic success and everyday well-being.
Families can connect with community partners distributing school supplies and providing information on programs and services available throughout the year. Participating partners include RGVeducator with Aimee Nuñez, M.Ed., along with schools, colleges and universities, healthcare organizations, nonprofit agencies, and community service providers.
“McAllen Public Library continues to be a place where families can access resources that support learning and growth at every stage,” said Kate P. Horan, Library Director.
“Attendees will enjoy raffle prizes, interactive activities, and educational opportunities designed to engage families. Financial aid experts from South Texas College will be on site to provide guidance on college planning, higher education, and future career pathways.”
“Every child deserves to begin the school year with confidence and the tools they need to succeed,” said Mayor Javier Villalobos. “Our Back to School Bash is about bringing our community together to support students, strengthen families, and remind every child that McAllen is invested in their future.”
