McALLEN, Texas – The City of McAllen continues to see significant progress in public safety, with the latest Texas Department of Public Safety (TX DPS) Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) data showing a 20.4% decrease in crime volume in 2025 compared to 2024.
The Texas UCR Program provides a standardized method for collecting and analyzing crime data across jurisdictions, including violent crimes, property crimes, arson, and human trafficking offenses.
According to the newly released 2025 Crime by Jurisdiction statistics, McAllen recorded its lowest crime levels in 40 years, reflecting continued collaboration between law enforcement and the community.

| • The City of McAllen has reduced crime approximately 81.4% from its crime high of 1995. |
